Upie Smart Fridges is a brand of Upie Vending Inc. (“Upie”, “we”, “us”). This page explains, in plain language, what information we handle and how.

This website

This website has no contact forms, accounts or sign-ups. The only way to reach us is by email. If you email us, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to discuss a possible fridge placement. We don't sell or rent your information.

Our smart fridges

Each fridge uses cameras and sensors inside the cabinet so it can recognize which products are taken and charge the correct amount. The cameras are there only to recognize products. We don't use them to identify people.

Payments

When you tap a credit card or phone, the payment is handled by our payment provider. We don't receive or store your full card number. We may see basic transaction details, such as the items purchased, the amount, and the date and time, to provide receipts, refunds and support.

Retention

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask any privacy question, by emailing jack@upie.ca.
